.: Help for search (skill)

The search skill governs your ability to find hidden
things — secret exits, concealed containers, stashed items, hidden creatures,
and obscured objects. It also powers your capacity to track creatures and
forage for materials.

Searching relies on your Perception stat and your
search skill rank. The keener your eye and the more
skilled you are, the more you can uncover.

━━━ The search Command ━━━

  search          Scour the current room for hidden things.

You can search once every couple of rounds. As your search
skill improves through repeated use, you may discover things you previously
missed.

━━━ Search Applications ━━━

Your search skill opens doors to three distinct arts:

  track  — Follow trails left by creatures and players.
            Higher search skill lets you follow trails farther and read
            more detail from the tracks you find.

  forage — Gather herbs, wood, ore, and materials from
            natural environments. Your search skill determines what
            quality materials you can uncover, and how rare the finds
            might be.

━━━ Skill Progression ━━━

The search skill improves through use — every search
attempt has a small chance to deepen your mastery. Over time, your
Perception and your accumulated rank in
search will determine what you can find.
